How to get the "frosted" look
This is a perfect finish for your leftover wax.
Put in a double boiler and let it melt. Whip up the warm wax before it completely dries. Frost your candle with it. It looks divine.

Reuse wick tabs
You can use old wicks again for new candles if you by any chance run out of wicks. You should remember that it can be tricky. The wicks might be crimped up and it could be quite a time consuming practice for you to un crimp it.
My advice would be to rather try to keep as much as you think you will need and keep an eye on your supplies.

Whipped wax
Very easy to do. Simply wait for the wax to form skin on top and whip with a fork. Now spoon it on the top of the candle. And there you have it, whipped cream.

Reuse leftover wax.
If you don't need leftover wax for whipping or frosting, you can always reuse it by simply throwing it into the double boiler and make another candle. You might have to rescent it.

Floating wick
You might find that you have trouble keeping your wick steady while your candle cools down. Here's a cool solution. Fix a little hot glue (strong glue) to the bottom centre of the container. Glue the wick to the bottom of the container. Problem solved. Another great candle making tip.

Making your own wicks (easy)
You will need some cotton string. Cut the string a bit longer than your mould. Do exactly the same as with the kite string. Dip it in the melted wax a couple of times. Lay the wick on wax paper. Make sure that it is laid out straight. We won't want problems while enjoying our lovely lit candles.
Another tip is to scent your wick instead of your candle. All you do is to dip the wick into the fragrance of your choice before dipping it into the wax
.

As you might have noticed by now, candle making tips are very useful and with a bit of imagination you will save quite a bit of money on this already inexpensive hobby.
